Join The Founding Herd

Every great herd starts with a few cows. The Founding Herd is our thank-you to the first 200 sellers who bring their sites to The Web Cow: list a site for sale within 30 days of joining, and you get our lifetime deal, which means no success fee on your sales, for as long as you have your account.

The lifetime deal is worth €150. The earlier you join, the less you pay for it, and the first 50 sellers pay nothing at all.

No lifetime deal. Free to list, and the fee is only paid when a site sells (minimum €25).

After the herd is full

  • First Moovers (the first 50 seats): the lifetime deal is free.
  • Early Grazers (the next 50 seats): 50% off, so €75, paid once.
  • Herd Builders (the next 100 seats): 25% off, so €112.50, paid once.
  • The Open Pasture (everyone after that): no lifetime deal. Listing is still free, and you pay the standard success fee of 5% (minimum €25) only when a site sells.

How full is the herd?

When all 200 seats are taken, the lifetime deal closes for good. It won't come back.

How to claim your seat

  1. Create a free account and confirm your email address.
  2. Go to Sell your site and set up selling.
  3. List a site for sale within 30 days of joining. That's what earns your seat: the herd is for sellers who really sell.
  4. If your seat is an Early Grazer or Herd Builder seat, pay the one-off price. First Moovers pay nothing.
  5. That's it. The Founding Herd badge appears on your listings and profile, and you never pay a success fee on sales up to €30,000.

What does no success fee actually mean for you? Here's one sale, both ways:

Example: a site that sells for €15,000. A Founding Herd member keeps an extra €750 on that sale, and on every sale up to €30,000. That one sale saves more than even the dearest seat costs (€112.50). This is an illustration, not a forecast: what your site sells for is up to the market.

The small print

  • List within 30 days: if you don't publish a listing in time, the seat goes back to the herd for the next seller. You can still sell with us on the standard terms.
  • Sales above €30,000: the lifetime deal covers each sale up to that amount. Above it, the standard success fee of 5% applies to that sale.
  • One seat per seller: seats belong to your account and can't be passed on.
  • Your deal stays yours: if we change our fees later, it won't change the terms of Founding Herd members.

Questions

Is listing really free?

Yes. Listing is free for every seller, in or out of the herd. The lifetime deal is about the success fee, which is only ever charged when a site sells.

What if my site doesn't sell?

Then you pay no success fee. First Moovers pay nothing at all; Early Grazers and Herd Builders pay only the one-off price of their seat.

Can I pay later to join a cheaper group?

No. Seats go in order, and the price is set by the group your seat falls in when you claim it.

I only want to buy. Do I need to join?

No. Buying on The Web Cow is free for everyone. The Founding Herd is about the fees sellers pay.
